After the defeat in the 1946 war, Dr Hans Mertens got flashbacks that make him incapable of practising medicine. Instead of getting his life back on track, he extensively drinks day and night. Hans fell in love with Susanne and later decided to Kill Bruckner. In Among Us German Author movie, he asked the latter to join him to the bar to shoot him.
